Website
targets lawmakers, lobbyists
Concord
Monitor - Concord,NH,USA
”Marc Snider, a divorced dad
who regularly attends legislative
hearings on family-law bills, calls
himself ‘a righteous force for equality
and fairness in the true best interests
of New Hampshire's children.’ But
his tactics go too far, some lawmakers
and lobbyists said.
Last year, Snider posted a photo of
a lobbyist, identifying her and others
he says do the bidding of ‘radical
anti-father ideologues’ and manipulate
policy from ‘the shadows.’” |

| Joint
custody to be Italian norm |
| ANSA - Rome,Italy |
| |
NOTABLE QUOTES:
“ANSA) -
Rome, January 25 - The Italian Senate
gave the definitive green light Wednesday
to a new law that strengthens the
access and custody rights of divorced
fathers .
”The legislation makes joint custody
of children the norm when parents
split up. This means single-parent
custody - which usually goes to the
mother - will now only be granted
in a minority of cases.”
"The most
important aspect of this measure is
that, for the first time, it has established
the principle of co-parenting. With
this law, one divorces one's spouse,
but not one's children." The
new legislation will revolutionize
the application of family law in Italy,
supporters said. In 2004 judges gave
the mother sole custody of children
in 84% of cases, while fathers had
custody in 6.5% and joint custody
was granted in 8.8%. The law, which
had bipartisan support in parliament,
guarantees both estranged parents
the right to regular contact with
their offspring . |

NOTABLE QUTES: “Wade Horn, president
of the National Fatherhood Initiative
and an IAV signatory for years, oddly
became Assistant Undersecretary for
the HHS Family Support division shortly
after the election of George W. Bush.
. . . Wade Horn wrote hundreds of
fabulous pro-marriage articles published
widely in leading conservative publications.
But, after appointment, Wade
Horn refused to live up to his writings.
He refused to do anything to change
administrative rules or recommend
legislation to ensure that military
reservists called into active duty
are not over-assessed support or criminalized.
His ‘Fathers Count’ bill merely gave
millions in federal money to NFI to
coax poor fathers into paying child
support on the promise that they ‘might’
get to be fathers. ‘Fathers
Count’ does not allow NFI spend one
nickel to make it possible for poor
fathers to be fathers. “

Apparently, probate court judges in
South Carolina do not hear family
law cases, according to this article.

Woman, 90, suing lawyer, doctor ...
The Patriot Ledger - Quincy,MA,USA
NOTABLE QUOTE: “Helen Runge, 90, says
her former lawyer helped a Randolph
nursing home hold her against her
will until her relatives hustled her
into a van and whisked her away as
employees tried to stop them. The
lawyer, Walter J. Kelly of Boston,
says Runge never wanted to live with
her daughter and son-in-law in North
Carolina, and that the couple kidnapped
a vulnerable, mentally ill elderly
woman.”
RINALDO’S NOTES:
Believe it or not, I have been in
situations where the nursing home
is keeping a patient nearly, or actually,
hostage on more than one occasion
here in Berkshire County.
